One of the most widely debated issues in Dostoyevsky's work, particularly within the context of Western philosophy and existentialism, is the question of God, which has been interpreted in a variety of ways. This editorial introduction discusses the interpretations of Sartre and Slavoj Žižek with the aim to demonstrate that, despite initially seeming contradictory, these two interpretations are not mutually exclusive, but rather complementary.
